The sugar cube.
by The Rebel infirstly thanks to cofty & smiddy for the kind words on my " final post" .
this post is simply to say over two months have passed since my last post and since then i have with my wife and son seen elton john live, visited stockholm, berlin, and most importantly appreciated " the natural beauty of my neighbourhood" with out even thinking about the watchtower.
i have also attended 3 watford football matches with my son and made better relationships with my parents, discovered harvey's draught beer and made new friends in my local pub.

This really happened to us. We bought a very old 4 story colonial. It was my husband, myself and a 1 year old. Every night when we would go to bed after making sure that absolutely everything was turned off in thus house we would hear a very low volume radio playing. Get up go through all 4 stories again - nothing. This went on for weeks until on day when the electrician was there and I happened to mention it to him. He went up to the attic, in the crawl space was a wrap around antenna for a ham radio. Then he came down to the master bedroom checked the phone, simple solution. Problem solved we needed to replace phone with one that did not have a speaker on it because we were picking up the local radio station. House was not haunted. No ghost.

Did you ever experience true kindness in the Org?
by HereIgo ini remember when i was about 17, i started shunning an older brother because he was disfellowshipped.
when i graduated high school, he pulled me aside and said " i know you are not supposed to talk to me, but i want you to have this" it was a gift that he had custom made for me.
i was so blown away, we never even had a real conversation before.

Until I came to this forum I only knew one JW and that was the "Elder" and he was the nicest, kindest, sweetest man I had ever met till he gave me that dreadful booklet on Families. And I started to ask questions about how children were raised and what exactly IS the roll of women in this religion. I was being gentle with the questions had not even gotten into the heavy questions when I got the good bye!! And that was the end of 5 years LOL.

I'm sorry but you have to take the gloves off now. Firstly you need to document all Of this. Then contact an anti cult organization and try to get the name of a sympathetic lawyer. NOW is the time to do it with all the ARC stuff in the media. You need to point out to a lawyer the risks to a small child at the kingdom hall
*ARC
*Undue influence the BiTE model
*Shunning, what happened with your "in" family
*Risk to health re transfusion
*Risk to mental health, why two strange men are allowed to question your 2 yr old about your sex life.
*Risk to her mental health as she grows, what if she is gay, number of suicides of young people in the org, sexism against women,
*Risk of domestic abuse, girls told to put up and shut up in marriage
Try to get more access, as the JW are seen more and more as a dangerous cult to kids, please try to get more control over what they can and cannot do - for your daughters sake.
Sorry but this has made me furious.
I can't write anymore it makes me so mad. THEY need to watch their step THEY ARE THE ONES IN A CULT.
I had to copy this because this is the best advise for your daughter. Please get to a good lawyer and arm them with every bit of ammunition to protect your little girl against this cult.

Showing Kindness To Strangers
by FedUpJW ini feel pretty foolish after reading the drivel in today's wt.
here i was operating under the impression that showing kindness to strangers was something that one did unselfishly.
boy was i wrong!

So there we have it. Kindness is shown by getting people in the door of the KH. No one else is kind but rather they always speak derogatorily of others. Is there any wonder that I am FedUp?
Never a JW, never made into a KH but talked to an Elder for 5 yrs daily then he gave me some WT literature. When I tried to ask a couple of questions about that material (beliefs) I got a quick "good bye have a nice life" email. I think this is another case of we speak out of both sides of our mouth, good job JWs .

I've been embarrassed so many times!
by stillin ini was kind of proud to go out in field service, most of the time.
important message, straight from god to their doors, right?.
but if you met with the group and didn't have previous arrangements, you could end up with the village idiot for a companion.

You should ask non jw's their experience with jw's at the door but don't tell them you were a jw and you will get many amusing stories."
Never a JW I always had a very large Absolutely NO Soliciting sign at my front door since I worked from home. It was January, which happens to be my busiest month for IRS reports and year end business reports AND who rings the door bell? I answer the door with Can you all not read? We are not selling anything. One of them said maybe we could assist in someway or something of that nature. My response was just find me about 5 husbands because everything is breaking and I do not have time to deal with it and work. Boy did they leave in a hurry.

I tried a vegetarian diet for 30 days until my neurologist found out about it . Oh, how quickly did he stop that diet. I just could not figure out why on earth I was getting so many migraines in those 30 days. NO, beans for you! That is beans of any kind. I would eat a whole package of lima beans for lunch and end up with a migraine. That was the year I received the long list of foods I am not allowed to eat. LOL. He was not my favorite doctor that day.

Here's what the Masons have to say about Jehovah
by NikL inmy grandfather was a 32nd degree mason.. my parents ended up with one of his books called "morals and dogma" published by the masons.. i remember looking through it years ago and seeing multiple mentions of jehovah.. as it turns out, it's in the public domain on project gutenberg and is there fore searchable.. found this interesting in light of chuck russell's alleged mason connection.. it says about jehovah and the divine name.... whether the legend and history of this degree are historically true, or but an allegory, containing in itself a deeper truth and a profounder meaning, we shall not now debate.
if it be but a legendary myth, you must find out for yourself what it means.
it is certain that the word which the hebrews are not now permitted to pronounce was in common use by abraham, lot, isaac, jacob, laban, rebecca, and even among tribes foreign to the hebrews, before the time of moses; and that it recurs a hundred times in the lyrical effusions of david and other hebrew poets..

Can a Person Resign From Being One of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by UnshackleTheChains inhow many witnesses are aware that technically, according to watchtower policy, they can if they wish too...associate with dissociated and disfellowshipped relatives.
for all those who are dissociated or disfellowshipped, please share this with your relatives who are currently shunning you.
there is nothing the elders can do as long as they are not discussing spiritual matters.

They may say that on their public website BUT watch this month's broadcast for a video reinforcing the shunning of your child. Or the summer broadcast at the RC. Their sick policy is to shun family members who leave the truth! In reality in most cases you do not have to be DA or DF just be inactive can now get you shunned. That is there on the website for the public to think they are a bunch of nice guys, I think most of us know better.

Smiddy,
Never a JW, so I watched the whole thing because they said it was about telling the truth.
I got the whole shunning your child thing in this video. I tried to view my outrage on that topic a couple of days ago when the video of the young lady was posted on another thread about breaking up families. First I totally disagree with this form of dissaplain of youth (anyone under the age of 20). Youth still needs guidance and coucilling not dissaplain.
Yes they ended their video with the wonderful growth taking place in some far off country where they have a huge refuge population. Of course they are going to target the the refuges. Isn't that there mode of operation target the down and out. That is what the the "Elder" thought he was doing, he thought he had me during my weak moments when I was going through never-ending 5 years of family crisis. They just kept piling up and I dealt with them but I did not crumble nor end up on anti depressents. Then when he gave me the book on Families I blew up how dare you treat children and women this way.
Yes, Smiddy there is NO part of this video that comes across to a Worldy person as ............ (fill in the blank with your favorite adjectives) Simon might kick me off the forum if I fill it in.
Recap from a Wordly person
Truth = must be New Light because I sure have not seen much truth spoken from the JWS in the past
Growth = yeap still up to their same tactics find the under dogs, don't give them any helping hand like most Christian groups would like food, shelter, etc just that spiritual food.
Then that shunning = tow the company line people stay faithful to Jehovah. Forget the fact that our children were originally a gift from God and we should cherish every moment we have with them on this earth - life is far to short and precious. I lost one child would never lose one to their silly rules. No one said raising a child will be easy and they wI'll test your last but of patience but you will make it through it.
I stopped watching these bunch of liars last August after the ARC so sorry I choose to watch this piece of crap.
OK rant over. Have a great day.
